By / 10 years ago / International News / No Comments

The event on April 9 was attended by fleet decision-makers from across the UK, who witnessed a stunning array of cars and vans available to drive on four different circuits, including Silverstone’s world-famous Grand Prix track.

The Show featured premieres of exciting new models such as the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, the Tesla Model S, the Infiniti Q50 and the Nissan X-Trail.

It also featured an extensive indoor exhibition of fleet service companies, eco-driver training on a special ‘eco-driving hub’, a ‘fleet on fleet’ seminar programme and an extensive fleet networking facility.

There was lavish praise from exhibitors at this year’s Show.

Alex Baker, managing director of mileage capture specialists, Fleet Innovations, was typical of many when he said: ‘Our show was awesome. We had an unbelievable time and walked away with an incredible amount of new business, so we are over the moon. You and your team organised an awesome event. Well done to all of you.’

Other exhibitors took to Twitter to express their reaction to the event.

Hyundai Motor UK tweeted: ‘Having a great time at the Fleet Show! With beautiful blue skies over the Silverstone UK circuit, it was a lovely day for test drives.’

Fleet maintenance software supplier SureFleet posted: ‘Yesterday we attended the Fleet World Fleet Show at the Silverstone Race Circuit with our SureFleet product. We had a great day; thank you to everyone who came to our stand and made it a success!’

Selsia Vehicle Accident Centres tweeted: ‘A very good Fleet Show at Silverstone. Very well organised and lots of interest in us. Well done Fleet World.’

Meanwhile, electric vehicle infrastructure suppliers, Charging Solutions tweeted: ‘Great to see old and new customers at the Fleet Show. Thanks to a great team.’

And Optimum Fleet Management tweeted: ‘It’s all go at the Fleet Show. Busy day, Great event. Super stands and exhibitions.’

The event’s organisers were delighted with reaction to this year’s event from exhibitors and visitors alike.

Fleet Show organiser Jerry Ramsdale commented: ‘A massive amount of thought, planning and effort went into this year’s Fleet Show.

‘We knew that we would have to give fleet managers a good reason for taking a whole day out of their busy schedules to visit the Show. And the attendance – a massive 40% up on the 2013 Fleet Show – confirms that we have succeeded.

‘Our aim was to really raise the bar as far as fleet events are concerned and the feedback we’ve received from both visitors and exhibitors shows we’ve done just that,’ added Ramsdale.

Amongst Show highlights were a series of workshops presented by fleet managers for fleet managers – a format which proved to be a resounding success. The new-look workshop-style sessions tackled fleet policy, risk management, driver training and environmental management and were very well attended.

And this year’s Show also featured an indoor exhibition in halls 1-3 of the Silverstone Wing, where 60 exhibitors demonstrated some of the latest developments, products and services in the fleet arena, providing Show attendees with the opportunity to hold face-to-face meetings and network with exhibitors and other visitors.
