All-electric chauffeur firm takes delivery of first Nissan LEAFs

Launched in January, the company has already counts national law firm Maclay Murray and Spens LLP among its clients.

From its headquarters in Canary Wharf, the company will have a fleet entirely made up of LEAFs in the top Tekna trim. Using figures from the Energy Saving Trust, customers are provided with data showing how much equivalent CO2 is being saved compared to using a black cab or Ford Galaxy for the same journey.

Pricing is said to be competitive with minicabs for short journeys, while longer trips such as journeys to Heathrow Airport will be in line with other executive chauffeur companies. As its customer portfolio grows, the company hopes to expand its London fleet and launch the service elsewhere.

Barry Beeston, Nissan's corporate sales director, said: ‘More and more corporate organizations are requesting zero emissions transport when selecting their taxi or chauffeur account provider, so companies like e-Connect will have a real advantage over competitors who cannot offer this service, at the request of their customers.’
