Danish fast-charge network to double in size

The units are all ABB Terra 53 chargers, which offer DC fast-charging compatibility with vehicles including the new Volkswagen e-Up! and BMW i3 thanks to the new internationally-recognised two-pin Combo Charging Standard.

CLEVER recently began rolling out DC fast chargers at Shell fuel stations in Denmark, and has a network which can support both AC and DC charging to suit all vehicles available there. The network is run on CLEVER’s back-office system, but repaired by ABB’s support team.

Chief executive, Lars Bording, said: ‘CLEVER’s strategy is to follow the car and that's why we, as Denmark’s leading electric-mobility operator, establish charging stations for all types of electric vehicles available in the Danish market.

‘This means that you can always be sure that there are (fast-)charging stations in our network to match your electric vehicle. Electric vehicles and charging go together, and it is critical that we deliver a charging infrastructure which is compatible and reliable.’
