ING Belgium takes delivery of nine Tesla Model S under pilot scheme

The pilot project on electric vehicles is in line with ING's plans to more quickly make the transition to a greener fleet.

"We are proud to launch this EV pilot project in close cooperation with our mobility partner Alphabet, with the leasing costs are taken into account the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), ie including fuel savings and tax benefits," said Judith Verhoeven, EV pilot manager, ING Belgium.

In addition, ING has added three new electric models to its fleet choice list, including the BMW i3 and Mercedes B-Class Electric Drive as well as the Tesla Model S. So far this year, more than 20 new electric vehicles have been delivered to employees.

"We are working hard to accelerate the global transition to sustainable mobility," explains Frédéric Jacoby, fleet sales manager Belux, Tesla. "But that cannot happen in the short term without major companies of electric vehicles into their fleet. We are therefore very pleased and proud that ING has decided to roll out such an ambitious EV project in Belgium. "

To assist ING in the integration of electric vehicles in its fleet, Alphabet will check which vehicles are most eligible for replacement by a electric vehicles and also works on determining the optimum charging infrastructure and providing additional services such as charge cards and an alternative vehicle for long journeys as part of the AlphaElectric eMobility solution.
