The service will be offered by 4EV, an online business which began selling charging cables last September, and will enable fleet managers to lease what they require and return or update them as their fleet evolves.

Ahead of the launch, the company is seeking a fleets operating between one and five electric vehicles to take part in a pilot project, as well as asking interested organisations to submit their details via the company’s website, 4ev.co.uk.

Company founder, Darren Pegram said it was a logical next step for the business: “More and more fleet managers are looking at increasing the number of low emission or electric vehicles within their fleet and, in addition to that, more companies are offering employees the option of choosing an electric vehicle as a company car.

“We are sure there is a market for this type of service and would be very interested to hear from any organisations which could benefit from this option.”
