Prius takes top honours in ADAC EcoTest

By / 12 years ago / International News / No Comments

ADAC’s revised EcoTest now includes the Worldwide Harminized Light Vehicles Test Procedure, the new global standard for fuel emissions figures, as well as the New European Driving Cycle and the company’s own highway test.

Well-to-whell values are also included in CO2 calculations, taking vehicle production and fuel transportation into account, as well as electricity production for plug-in vehicles, aimed at drawing closer comparisons between conventionally powered and electric models.

On test, the Prius achieved 61.7mpg and awarded 40 points for fuel economy. It also achieved the full 50 points for low emissions. Closest rival the Honda Insight was awarded 87 points overall, scoring four stars.
