The vehicles will be used to travel between the company’s ‘out of home’ advertising sites, including billboards, street furniture, retail and airports. With a large inner-city presence, this will allow JCDecaux to run a true zero emission fleet using the existing charging infrastructure.

Designed to be as similar to the regular Kangoo, the Z.E. version has an identical load capacity, 650kg payload and load length, with the advantage of near silent running and low running costs. Its 100 mile range means it could average up to 30,000 miles per year.

JCDecaux Group Operations Director, Mark Cooper, said: “We have done everything possible to reduce our carbon footprint, believe that in the major cities where we operate, the transfer of our fleet from fossil fuels to electric is a major step forward in aiding this process even further.”

The Kangoo Z.E. is priced from £16,995 with a £59 monthly leasing cost. It arrives in showrooms in October.
