Tesla doubles European capacity with local factory

Located in Tilburg, where the manufacturer has previously carried out delivery preparation for European-market vehicles, the 77,658 square-metre BREEAM-NL Outstanding-certified factory will have a capacity of 450 Model S electric cars per week – doubling the output for Europe.

Parts will still be built at Tesla’s factory in Fremont, California, but Tilburg will install batteries, powertrains, axles and software before delivery, as well as carrying out control testing including the use of a 750-metre indoor test track.
