UK’s first multi-brand EV showroom to open doors in July
A new multi-brand showroom offering the chance to test-drive a range of electric vehicles from different manufacturers is to open in July.
Located at the centre:mk shopping centre in Milton Keynes, the Electric Vehicle Experience Centre (EVEC) will feature EVs from vehicle partners BMW, Kia, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Renault and Volkswagen, available to drive on local roads, as well as providing advice on owning and running electric vehicles.
Managed by Chargemaster and using funding awarded to Milton Keynes under the Go Ultra Low City scheme, the EVEC is intended to play a key role in the town’s plans for 23% of all new cars registered locally to be electric by 2021.
Other initiatives planned by Milton Keynes Council under the Go Ultra Low City programme include investment in infrastructure, including the creation of several EV charging ‘hubs’, free parking for EVs and further grants for workplace and home charging.
The EVEC will open its doors to the public on Saturday 22 July.
