U.S. Department of Transport joins workplace charging scheme

More than 240 employers have already joined the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Workplace Charging Challenge, but the DOT is the first Federal agency to do so. Joining the scheme means it will get free guidance including assessing demand, procurement and technical support.

Jeff Marootian, the department’s assistant secretary for administration and chief sustainability officer, said: “DOT plays a major role in coordinating clean transportation infrastructure in our country, and we are proud to lead the Federal Government by taking early steps to implement the President’s initiative to increase PEV workplace charging for our employees.”
