West Norfolk implements four new rapid charge points

By / 8 years ago / International News / No Comments

The charge points, which include three in King’s Lynn as well as one in Hunstanton, are each fitted with a 50kW DC CHAdeMO Type 4 connector; a Combo-2 connector; an AC 43kW 62196-2 connector.

Councillor Brian Long, Cabinet Member for the Environment, said “As electric vehicles become more popular, we want to make sure that West Norfolk is leading the way when it comes to offering convenient charge points for drivers who’ve made the change.”

The new installations join existing Rapid Charge points in East Anglia, in Swaffham, Norwich and Peterborough.

The charge points cost £200,000 and were paid for entirely with funding provided by OLEV (75%) with a Nissan consortium providing the final 25%.

Prospective charge point users will need to register a debit or credit card with ‘Charge Your Car’ (CYC).

Cllr Long has also spent a week test driving a Nissan LEAF to see how easy it is to get around the area and to highlight any improvements that West Norfolk could make to encourage the use of electric vehicles. To read his blog, click here.
