Whitecar is expanding its fleet of Tesla Model S 90D hire cars

Whitecar was launched 12 months ago within the Heathrow area and provides app-based bookings for its fleet of Tesla Model S 90D models, which have a range of 300 miles.

Due to demand, Whitecar is looking to double the size of its current fleet and possibly launching a new location in Manchester. As part of its expansion plans, the business also aims to have 20 outlets across the UK and Europe by 2020.

Total Motion has been tasked with sourcing the additional vehicles, with Harry Hill, electric specialist at Total Motion, saying: “We are very keen on the EV market and have fantastic relationships with the manufacturers, including Tesla which we are continually supplying on contract hire, finance lease, HP and PCP. Electric is here to stay and we are here to support it. The concept which Whitecar has will change the retail market, and the fleet market will follow once Whitecar starts to snowball.”

Mark Strachan, founder of Whitecar, commented: “I find Total Motion unbelievably easy to deal with, and extremely professional too. They have helped me out hugely with the development of Whitecar and they understand the electric car opportunity. They are clearly passionate about the car and transportation industry, and understand that there is a transition happening in this sector, and they want to be a part of this.”
