Alphabet & EDF Energy launch short-term charging solution

By / 9 years ago / International News / No Comments

Dubbed “Charge before you buy”, the short-term discovery solution is available exclusively for Alphabet customers and enables them to explore whether electric vehicles fit their fleet.

The solution provide three charge points for customers to lease for periods between one and three months. Offering up to 32 Amp charging, the points have been designed to give a conventional charging experience with free-standing non-invasive pinnacles.

Kit Wisdom, head of corporate mobility, Alphabet, said: ‘One of the biggest concerns for fleets when it comes to introducing EVs is charging. Through our collaborative approach with EDF Energy, we are able to launch the next stage of our AlphaElectric product line-up. “Charge before you buy” is yet another step in the right direction in demonstrating that the use of Electric Vehicles in fleets is credible.’

Mark Constable, senior product manager at EDF Energy, added: ‘For a number of years now, EDF Energy has been working closely with the automotive industry to help bring developments in EV charging to the market. We are excited to bring our expertise to Alphabet’s AlphaElectric initiative. Fully or partially-electrified vehicle fleets mean a large decrease in carbon emissions which can have a real impact on a company’s reduction targets.’
