BRABUS ups performance for smart fortwo and ebike

Both models feature a matching green on black colour scheme, said to be an indication of their eco-minded performance credentials, and are in close to production form.

The smart fortwo sits 10mm lower than the standard car, and offers a 6bhp power hike to 80bhp with a sound generator adding a sporty noise under heavy throttle inputs. Its two-tone bodywork is matched by a green-accented interior and 16 and 17-inch BRABUS alloy wheels.

Performance has been boosted for the ebike, too. This now tops out at 28mph, instead of 18mph for the standard version.

Dr. Annette Winkler, head of the smart brand, said: ‘The smart BRABUS electric drive will be available from smart centers in 12 countries from the end of this year. In addition to modifications to the exterior and interior styling, its drive has been designed for particularly dynamic and powerful acceleration. Aerodynamic body styling parts, BRABUS sports suspension and BRABUS Monoblock 16/17 inch alloy wheels add to the sporty appeal.’
