Call for pan-European fleet operators for EV project

Coordinated by the Energy Saving Trust, the project consortium consists of 10 member organisations in the energy and transport sectors to offer advice to urban pan-European fleet operators with free EV usage analysis and consultancy to determine a business case based on a whole-life cost benefit analysis.

It is expected this project will help build a policy framework for governments across Europe to create their own EV incentive programmes and gradually increase the uptake of EVs at a national and local level.

Already engineering and electronics manufacturer Bosch is the first company to benefit from the I-CVUE advice and the campaign is now looking for more fleets and industry partners to maximise the reach and impact of the project.

Tim Anderson, senior transport advice manager at the Energy Saving Trust, said: “These are exciting times for electric vehicles. We are seeing a clear increase in the uptake of EVs into large-scale fleet operations. And as we undertake this project we will gather knowledge that will encourage the development of new EV fleets across Europe. The Energy Saving Trust is proud to be in the driving seat.”

Members of the campaign include:

  • Energy Saving Trust (UK)
  • Cardiff University (UK)
  • Transport for London (UK)
  • Austrian Energy Agency
  • German Aerospace Center
  • Automobil Club Assistencia SA / Automobile Assistance Club SA  (Spain)
  • Robert Bosch GMBH (Germany)
  • IRU Projects ASBL (Belgium)
  • FIER Automotive B.V (Netherlands)
  • EVUnion / Electric Vehicle Union (Norway)
