Free Jaguar I-Pace update delivers 8% extra range

By / 4 years ago / UK News / No Comments

Jaguar I-Pace drivers can now get a free software update that delivers 12 miles of extra range, equivalent to an 8% uplift.

The race-derived enhancements deliver up to 12 miles’ extra real-world range

Although it doesn’t change the official certified range, the update builds on the existing WLTP-rated figure of 292 miles, drawing on technical knowledge gained from the I-PACE eTROPHY race series.

The extra range is provided by optimised battery management, which allows the battery to run to a lower state of charge than previously; Jaguar says driveability, durability and performance are not affected. Additional changes include updates to regenerative braking and range calculation.

The complimentary software update is installed at retailers, with customers also benefiting from enhanced Software-Over-The-Air functionality as a result.

The software upgrade follows the recent launch of an online calculator that enables potential I-Pace customers to easily see how different factors, such as wheel size and other vehicle aspects, affect the vehicle’s official range and running costs.
