New alliance to push for EV-focused policies in Europe

By / 1 month ago / UK News / No Comments

A new eMobility alliance has formed to lobby for the roll-out of consumer-centric electric vehicle policies in Europe.

Under new plans, MEGA-E would be a new rapid charger installed network across Europe

The alliance aims to facilitate the roll-out of EV charging infrastructure in Europe

Launched by EVBox Group, Allego and ChargePoint – and open for membership to other companies, the ChargeUp Europe group will push for EU policies that support investment in charging infrastructure, help to remove market barriers, facilitate the smooth uptake of EVs, and create a seamless experience for EV drivers.

It will also act as a centre of expertise that educates policymakers, stakeholders, and the general public about the importance of EVs and related charging infrastructure for achieving zero-emission transportation.

Mathieu Bonnet, CEO of Allego, said: “We launch in uncertain times, and of course, people’s minds are focused on Covid-19. But as we all look to play our part in managing this crisis, we feel it’s important that we also keep focused on tackling other great challenges such as climate change. ChargeUp Europe represents a unique opportunity for the sector to come together and speed up the development and roll out of charging infrastructure across Europe. We call on all other like-minded partners to join this initiative.”
