Nissan and SNCF boost LEAF's range to 500 miles

By / 11 years ago / International News / No Comments

The carmaker has installed one of its own Quick Chargers at the Bercy train station in Paris, where the LEAF can be fully charged before being loaded onto the train. Passengers then take a TGV or sleeper train, and are reunited with the car at the destination.

As part of the partnership, SNCF is offering a free return journey from the south of France, as well as 30% discounts on all other trips made with the company.

Pierre Boutin, Managing Director Nissan France, said: ‘Our partnership with SNCF not only gives people the freedom to take their beloved Nissan LEAF on holiday, but has the potential to change the way we travel to our holiday destinations in the future. With a pan-European network of Quick Chargers offering free charging before any journey, the sustainable vacation possibilities are limitless.’

The Quick Charger at Bercy is one of 40 Nissan will install across France, and part of a 400-unit network set to span Europe. There are also ten fast chargers in the south of France, located at Nissan dealers, Avia service stations on the A8 autoroute and in major towns including St Remy de Provence and Avignon.
