Posten Norge to deploy 300 electric delivery vehicles

Set to be deployed nationwide, the new vehicles will be used for mid-length routes and urban deliveries, and are expected to save millions of krone per year in operating costs.

As Posten Norge is subject to the Procurement Act, it has chosen Renault as the primary supplier, while Nissan will also supply vehicles for the new fleet. They join around 900 electric vehicles already in use by the service, as well as 200 larger delivery trucks using environmentally friendly fuels.

The company's CEO Dag Mejdel said it's a milestone in its ongoing plans: ”Posten Norge is one of the Nordic region's biggest transport operators and our CO2 emissions are quite large. We are now seeing the rather significant results from the measures we have implemented. The purchase of new electric cars is one of the major contributors to us meeting our environmental targets.”
