Addison Lee implements 350 hybrids for new "Eco" division

The fleet comprises 350 Toyota Prius Plus T4 1.8 models, which will be replaced every three years to ensure CO2 emissions are minimised and the latest fuel-efficient technology is consistently incorporated. In addition, the company’s proprietary booking and dispatch system ensures that vehicles waste as little fuel as possible through unnecessary mileage.

The Eco division will join Addison Lee’s fleet of 4,800 premium minicabs and will sit alongside the corporate, VIP and international divisions. The firm also promises the same premium service for its new Eco fleet, with complimentary Wi-Fi available throughout the new fleet.

Peter Boucher, chief commercial officer of Addison Lee, said: ‘After another strong year of growth the launch of Addison Lee Eco demonstrates our continued investment in green technologies and new service lines.

‘Addison Lee Eco now has more than 350 eco-friendly cars that are in line with our premium credentials and offer the same quality service as the rest of our fleet. As the private-hire sector evolves we continue to pioneer through technology to remain at the forefront of sustainable development within our industry.’
