BP Pulse and Addison Lee have signed a charging agreement, supporting the private hire giant as its fleet goes all-electric.

The tie-up will give enhanced access to more than 3,000 ultra-fast and rapid charge points on the BP Pulse network. This includes the Park Lane and Gatwick airport EV Fleet Charging Hubs. The former has 22x 50kW rapid charge points, while the latter features 6 x 150kW ultra-fast charge points and 8x 50kW rapid charge points, both providing convenient charging.

Relationships like this, together with our plans to open several more fleet charging hubs across the City and Greater London, will facilitate more electric journeys and help accelerate the electric transformation of fleets.”

BP Pulse is also pushing ahead with a global ambition of more than 100,000 charge points by 2030, with approximately 90% of those rapid or ultra-fast. In the UK, the company plans to invest up to £1bn into the country’s EV charging infrastructure – roughly tripling the number of public charging points in its network by 2030 while also upgrading existing charge points.

BP’s growing network will help Addison Lee with its pledge to transition to an all-electric fleet by 2023. It already has 450 Volkswagen ID.4s operating across London with an aim to grow this fleet to 1,000 by the end of the year.
