AeroVironment becomes Ford's U.S. charge point partner

Customers will be provided with an all-inclusive installation at their home, completed in a single visit with no need for prior surveys or paperwork. The 240-volt charging unit will offer a 21-mile range for the C-MAX Energi and Fusion Energi plug-in hybrids in two and a half hours, while the Focus Electric can be topped up to 76 miles in less than four hours.

Wahid Nawabi, AeroVironment senior vice president and general manager of its Efficient Energy Systems business segment, said: ‘Turning home garages into electric vehicle refueling stations with a single telephone call is one of several ways we work with transportation leaders like Ford to make it easy for drivers to enjoy the benefits of plug-in electric vehicles.’

AeroVironment is also the preferred supplier and installation partner for the Mitsubishi i electric vehicle in the United States.
