All-EV fleet planned for Manchester Met

The newcomers comprise two Nissan LEAF pool cars and three e-NV200 panel vans, which will be used for deliveries around its two campuses, supported by 24 charging points including two rapid chargers.

All of the remaining 18 vehicles on the university fleet will be replaced with electric alternatives when they come up for renewal.

Jason Smith, the university’s transport co-ordinator, said: “As an organisation we are always striving to improve our environmental performance and our Nissan EVs are already making a significant contribution to that. But the savings on fuel alone make moving towards an EV fleet a real no brainer.”
