Allstar has unveiled its new Chargepass EV payment solution and welcomed a new managing director to oversee the rollout.

Ashley Tate, former Mina co-founder and CEO, becomes MD of Allstar Chargepass in the UK

The move follows the acquisition of Mina by Allstar’s parent company Fleetcor in February this year.

The two firms have brought their skills and specialisms together to offer a range of EV charging payment solutions under the name of Allstar Chargepass. These will support the UK’s transition to electric vehicles by making paying for EV charging simpler both at home as well as on the road, drawing on Mina’s startup innovations with the capabilities of Allstar.

At the same time, former Mina co-founder and CEO Ashley Tate becomes managing director of Allstar Chargepass in the UK. Tate will be responsible for the rollout of the Chargepass offering, bringing his expertise in creating Mina’s payment technology.

Chargepass enables fleet and business electric vehicles to be charged at home and on the road, eliminating the need for separate transactions, and offering customers a single monthly invoice. It’s said to the only such solution in the UK and can also be used by businesses operating mixed fleets (electric and fuel), giving them ultimate flexibility across their total fuel and charging expense.

Ashley Tate, MD, Allstar Chargepass UK, commented: “Since the acquisition of Mina by Fleetcor earlier this year, we’ve been working tirelessly to bring a solution to market that can combine the strengths of both fantastic businesses. Now with the launch of Allstar Chargepass here, I can confidently say we’ve managed to create that industry-leading solution that will allow fleets to streamline their transition to electric, no matter how big or small.”

The solution also provides businesses with tools to manage their EV fleets effectively via an intuitive portal. It offers features such as ‘multi-electric vehicle mode’ – designed to help companies prevent charging fraud and improve charging transparency. Fleets also get valuable insights including carbon intensity and emissions, cost per kWh, location, and duration of each charge also help inform fleet management decision-making, supporting businesses with their overall sustainability efforts.

Tom Rowlands, MD Global EV Solutions at Fleetcor, added: “With the transition to EV vehicles fully underway both at home and in businesses, Allstar is launching Allstar Chargepass to provide a holistic solution that can accommodate EV and mixed fuel fleets under one simple invoice. Unifying with Mina and the arrival of Chargepass brings a new era of ease for fleets as they increasingly continue to look to adopt electric vehicles, and we’re excited to see where this journey will take us.”
