AlphaElectric will be headed up by the fleet funding specialist's eMobility team, including Nigel Trotman and Kit Wisdom, and is said to be an industry first, forming part of ongoing carbon reduction plans for the company.

Customers will be provided with three elements, comprising personalised consultancy to find areas where EVs can be used on their fleet, provision of home and office charging solutions, and support services including driver training and alternative mobility solutions for journeys which can’t be undertaken using just battery power.

AlphaElectric launches in the UK this September, and will be rolled out across Europe by the start of 2014. Although Alphabet is part of the BMW Group, the package will be open to all makes and marques of electric vehicle.
