Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron delivers sleek design and up to 402 electric miles

Audi’s Q6 SUV e-tron has gained a sleeker and longer-range sibling in the form of the Sportback version.

The Q6 Sportback e-tron delivers sleek design and a longer range

Debuted at the Paris Motor Show 2024, the coupé-SUV gets a more aerodynamic bodystyle along with a £2,500 higher price tag that starts at £62,475.

As with the Q6 SUV e-tron, it’s based on the PPE platform – short for Premium Platform Electric – that’s been co-developed with Porsche and also underpins the new electric Macan. Design has been reenvisaged from the A-pillar back, resulting in a Sportback that’s 37mm lower than the SUV variant and with a sloping roofline inspired by the first-generation Audi TT Coupé.

Audi says the Sportback coupé bodystyle is one of the most popular body designs among customers and appeals to design-orientated customers.

Thanks to its streamlined styling, the Q6 Sportback e-tron performance is the efficiency champion in the model series, with a range of up to 402 miles.

The sleeker looks do, however, reduce boot space, which stands at 511 litres with the rear seats up and 1,373 with them folded, compared to 526 and 1,529 litres for the Q6 SUV e-tron. The 64-litre ‘frunk’ is carried over.

As with the Q6 SUV e-tron, it’s available with 83kWh and 100kWh battery options. The smaller-capacity battery has a maximum charging speed of 225kW while the 100kWh can charge at up to 260kW.

The entry-level Q6 Sportback e-tron variant features the smaller battery and a 252hp rear-mounted motor (292hp with launch control). It accelerates from 0-62mph in 7.0 seconds in launch control mode and has a maximum WLTP range of 334 miles.

The Performance version teams up the larger 100kWh battery with a bigger 306hp rear motor (326hp with launch control) to deliver 0-62mph in 6.6 seconds in launch control mode. This is the longest-range version with a WLTP figure of 402 miles.

The Q6 Sportback e-tron quattro retains the 100kWh battery and adds a motor at the front, giving all-wheel drive, total power of 388hp and will hit 62mph in 5.9 seconds. It has a maximum WLTP range of 390 miles.

The range-topping SQ6 Sportback e-tron ups this to 490hp (517hp with launch control), 0-62mph in 4.3 seconds in launch control mode and a maximum WLTP range of 367 miles.

The specification line-up mirrors the Q6 SUV e-tron and spans Sport, S line and Edition 1 trims. The SQ6 is solely available in Edition 1 guise and is priced at £95,450.

UK sales start 21 November, with first customer deliveries due from April 2025.
