AWGroup, a renewable energy and land development business, has cut its ultra-rapid EV charging rate to 39p/kWh.

The Checkley Wood charging hub features 14 ultra-rapid charge points, extra-wide bays and an onsite coffee shop

The bargain price is around half the UK’s average for PAYG ultra-rapid charging and available at its flagship Checkley Wood charging station on the A5 outside Leighton Buzzard.

Open for use by electric cars, vans and lorries, the site features 14 ultra-rapid charge points, extra-wide bays and an onsite coffee shop.

Drivers can relax, recharge and watch as the group’s onsite wind turbine generates enough green electricity to power the equivalent of 2,500 average Bedfordshire homes every year.

John Fairlie, managing director, AWRenewables, said: “We are passionate about the communities we serve, and we want to demonstrate that when pioneering technology and big ideas come together, real differences can be made.”
