Zap-Pay customers can now pay quickly and easily for their charging on Be.EV’s network of charge points under a new deal.

The new partnership makes paying for charging much easier for electric car drivers in Greater Manchester and other areas across England and Wales

With a network of predominantly rapid and ultra-rapid chargers across England and Wales, Be.EV is now live as one of Zapmap’s payment partners.

The national EV charging network is the latest operator to go live on the Zap-Pay charging payment solution developed by Zapmap.

The new partnership makes paying for charging much easier for electric car drivers in Greater Manchester and other areas across England and Wales, thanks to the charge point operator’s network of local charging options, often installed in conjunction with local authorities.

Be.EV currently operates over 700 charge points at around 180 locations across England and Wales, with the majority concentrated in and around Greater Manchester. As part of a nationwide expansion plan, the network is on track to have a network of over 1,000 charge points by the end of 2024, focused on sites ideally located to serve local communities.

Be.EV already shared a live data partnership with Zapmap, meaning users of the Zapmap app can see live status updates on Be.EV 24/7.

The charge point operator now joins live payment partners Osprey, ESB Energy, Char.gy, GeniePoint, Mer, MFG EV Power, Fastned, Alfa Power, Connected Kerb, Evyve, Charge My Street, Applegreen Electric and For EV.

Zapmap’s in-app payment solution Zap-Pay uses a credit or debit card to pay for charging, and was launched with a mission to include all the key charge point networks across the UK.

Drivers using Zap-Pay are also able to view their charging history, receive live status updates while away from their vehicle, and download receipts to help keep track of their spending. To facilitate easy payment, they can also use both Apple Pay and Google Pay on all Zap-Pay enabled devices across the UK.

Asif Ghafoor, CEO and co-founder of Be.EV, said: “We pride ourselves on making charging as smooth as possible. This integration makes the Be.EV charging experience even more seamless, as EV drivers can now locate and pay for a Be.EV charger without leaving the Zapmap app.”

More Zap-Pay partnerships are due to be announced over the coming weeks and months.
