Canada confirms EV and FCEV infrastructure investment

Announced as part of the 2016 Budget, $16.4m (£8.8m) will be used to add rapid charging units, natural gas stations and hydrogen stations along Canada’s main transport routes. The remaining $46.1m (£24.8m) will be invested into developing next-generation charging infrastructure – likely to mean faster and wireless units.

Canada's Minister of Natural Resources, the Jim Carr, said: “By investing in electric vehicle technology and infrastructure, we will provide national leadership on climate change and grow our economy.”
