Citroën cuts £14k off ë-SpaceTourer electric MPV entry price
Citroën has slashed more than £14k off the entry-level price for its revised ë-SpaceTourer all-electric MPV range while revamping the trim structure.
The major price reduction follows the introduction last year of the brand’s ‘Fair Pricing’ pledge and means the revised model now comes under the £35k ceiling to qualify for the current £2,500 Plug-in Car Grant.
As a result, pricing (incl. PiCG) for the new ë-SpaceTourer range now starts from only £31,995 for the ‘Business Edition’, versus £48,615 for the outgoing ‘Business’ trim level.
Citroën has also replaced the previous ‘Feel’ trim with a new ‘Flair’ version. This is priced at £47,495.
Both models bring up to nine seats and are available in the Medium (M) body style, at 4,959mm in length. They’re powered by a 50kWh battery, connected to a 136hp electric motor and with an official WLTP range of 143 miles.
The powertrain supports up to 100kW rapid charging, and an 80% re-charge will take 30 minutes. A full charge from a 7.4kW domestic wallbox takes seven hours and 30 minutes. The lithium-ion battery pack also gets an eight-year/100,000 mile warranty for up to 70% of battery capacity.
The nine-seater ‘Business Edition’ features a layout with three rows of three seats, including a dual front passenger bench with under seat storage. The second and third rows feature a 60:40 split design and removable seats. The second row features Isofix anchorage points as standard.
Equipment on the ‘Business Edition’ includes air con, cruise control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 7-inch touchscreen and a driver attention alert system.
All models also feature Citroën Connect Nav with real-time traffic alerts, as well as Citroën Connect Box that alerts assistance or emergency services in the event of an incident or accident.
The eight-seater ‘Flair’ model replaces the Business Edition’s front passenger bench with separate driver and front passenger seats. These include heating and massage functions and all seats are upholstered in leather. It also builds on the Business Edition with 17-inch diamond-cut bi-tone alloy wheels, body-colour exterior door handles and a panoramic glass roof.
The ‘Flair’ trim also features a programmable cruise control system with speed limiter, a head-up display and blind spot monitoring for enhanced safety.
Eurig Druce, managing director of Citroën UK, commented: “With low Benefit-in-Kind rates and TCO, class-leading practicality and technologies, the new ë-SpaceTourer is now an ideal option for many more private and business customers.”
The revised Citroën ë-SpaceTourer range is available to order now, with first deliveries expected from August.
