Already on sale in Europe, the two-seater Ami 100% electric is offered in three trim levels, priced from £7,695 to £8,895, while the Cargo version is offered in a single specification, priced at £7,995.

Both feature an 8hp electric motor with a top speed of 28mph, powered by a 5.5kWh lithium battery pack, giving up to 46 miles of range. It can be charged in three hours from a home wallbox or a public charging point.

Both versions are also only available in left-hand drive – which the brand says allows the driver to exit the vehicle kerbside when parking at the roadside.

The grade line-up for the passenger version starts with the lead-in ‘Ami’ trim, which comes with digital speedometer, LED front and rear lights, a panoramic glass sunroof and a USB charging port. It can also be specified with one of three Colour Packs – Orange, Blue or Grey – which are priced at £400 (inc. VAT) and are specifically designed to be fitted at home. These include colour-coded wheel trims and rear pillar decals, as well as a smartphone cradle for the dashboard and the DAT@AMI connection box that allows customers to consult their Ami’s charge status, and more, from the MyCitroën mobile app.

The mid-level Ami Pop grade features the Orange Colour Pack as a factory-fit with black trim on the front and lower front and rear bumpers, and around the rear lights. It also adds in a black rear spoiler and orange decals.

The top-spec Ami Vibe wears the Grey Colour Pack and gains a black finish to the top of the front bumper, front and rear bumper bases, and rear light surrounds, and adds two decorative black roof rails, black wheel arches and ‘Contours’ decals on the doors and front wings.

The My Ami Cargo is aimed at businesses carrying out short distance or last-mile deliveries and replaces the passenger seat with a modular storage area, including a cargo floor with two positions and a lidded box in the rear creating 260 litres of storage space. Alongside the existing interior storage, it provides a total load capacity of 400 litres.

Eurig Druce, Citroën UK’s managing director, said: “These exciting new quadricycles showcase the way the Citroën brand brings innovation, electric mobility and clever design to the widest possible range of people, offering customers a radically different take on urban transport. What’s really exciting is that we are launching Ami in the UK due to huge demand from the public – it’s a perfect example of our ‘Power to the People’ thinking.”

The Ami and My Ami Cargo are only being sold online through Citroën’s dedicated Ami digital platform – since their launch in the UK was confirmed, over 2,000 reservations have already been received.
