Club Car ramps up production of electric utility vehicles to target UK fleets

Club Car, a global manufacturer of electric utility vehicles for personal and commercial use, has increased production of its street-legal Urban range of commercial vehicles to help European fleets go electric.

Club Car offers a wide range of zero-emission on- and off-road vehicles

Launched in 2022, the range includes two street-legal (N1 and L7e) models and one non-street-legal (XR) vehicle.

They’re already used in Europe by customers including Tesla, Mercedes-Benz, Siemens and numerous local authorities – and the business has now opened a new 3,300m2 factory in Poland to meet increasing demand, including from UK fleet operators.

The new facility, located in Mielec in south eastern Poland, triples the company’s European production lines and increases capacity to supply a growing and diverse customer base.

Marco Natale, vice president EMEA for Club Car, said: “The addition of this new factory in Poland strengthens our ability to respond to increasing global demand for compact utility and low-speed consumer vehicles.

“With this investment, Club Car will better serve customers in the European utility market, where many industry and manufacturing, leisure and tourism, and municipal organisations are modernising and electrifying their fleets.”

Club Car is one of the leading manufacturers of golf and utility vehicles, supplying many of the world’s top golf resorts and organisations.

The business now operates two major factories in Poland, having acquired the Melex manufacturing plant – virtually next door – with the 2022 purchase of Garia, a Danish producer of low-speed vehicles which had bought Polish utility company Melex the year before.

“This increase in production capabilities is great news for our dealers and customers in Europe, who will have access to a wider range of zero-emission on- and off-road vehicles at a variety of price points,” Natale added.

Club Car’s Urban vehicles are engineered to offer efficient, safe and eco-friendly transport solutions that also major on design, aerodynamic flow and high-quality European components.

They’re capable of top speeds of 30kmh / 18mph (XR), 40kmh / 24mph (L7e) and 50kmh / 31mph (N1), and designed to be nimble and durable, navigating a wide variety of terrain, from narrow city roads to warehouses to construction sites.

The vehicles have a low operational cost and can be customised to suit many different needs.
