Cupra Born electric hot hatch gains higher-power e-Boost versions

Cupra has expanded the line-up for its Born electric hatchback with new ‘e-Boost’ higher-power derivatives.

The new variants mean three combinations of power output and battery capacity are now available and include a 230hp e-Boost version which features a 58kWh battery and is priced from £37,445 OTR.

The line-up also gets a 230hp e-Boost model with a 77kWh battery and starting at £40,215 OTR.

The 58kWh 230hp e-Boost derivative offers an estimated range of up to 261 miles (WLTP), and accelerates from 0 to 62mph in 6.6 seconds.

The top-of-the-range 77kWh 230PS e-Boost brings an estimated range of up to 340 miles, with a 0-62mph acceleration time of 7.0 seconds.

Both e-Boost versions take seven hours 30 minutes to charge from 0-100% using an 11kW AC wall charger and can also be charged at up to 135kW DC, going from 5-80% in 36 minutes.

The two e-Boost variants are available in V2 and V2 grades, and join the 58kWh 204hp standard model that opened for orders last year priced at £34,715. This model has an estimated range of 264 miles and accelerates from 0 to 62mph in 7.3 seconds. It can be charged from 0-100% in six hours 15 minutes using an 11kW AC wall charger, or from 5-80% using a 120kW DC rapid charger in 35 minutes.

Cupra has also announced finance options for the new Born, including a Solutions Personal Contract Plan (PCP) scheme offered in conjunction with Volkswagen Financial Services UK and priced from £399 for a 48-month plan.
