Launched today, it arrives hot on the heels of the car version and replaces the rear seats with a mesh bulkhead to cater for commercial fleet needs while retaining the rear doors.

The N1 homologated Spring Cargo is priced at £14,995 excluding VAT and qualifies for the Plug-in Van Grant (PiVG) of £2,500. It’s also available for £149 excluding VAT a month on business contract hire via Renault Group’s Mobilize Financial Services (MFS).

The Spring Cargo is aimed at urban operators due to its compact dimensions and specifications. It measures 3.7m long with a turning radius of 4.8m, while offering a payload of 370kg with 1,085 litres of load space accessed from the rear doors or tailgate.

It’s only available with the 65hp motor from the Spring car; the lower-powered 45hp unit isn’t being offered. The e-motor is powered by a 26.8kWh battery with a WLTP mixed cycle range of 140 miles, slightly more than the 137 for the car version. Fast charging gives a 20% to 80% recharge in 45 minutes and, like its five-seater sibling, the Spring Cargo has bi-directional vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability to power external devices.

Specification keeps it simple with just one version available that features Polar White paint, a 10-inch display with Media Nav Live and smartphone replication, plus Bluetooth, a USB port, cruise control, manual air conditioning, electric front windows, remote central locking, front and rear parking sensors and a reversing camera.

The Dacia Spring Cargo is available to order now.
