Said to be the best-value seven-seat hybrid available, the Jogger Hybrid 140 teams up the practicality of the existing conventional petrol version with hybrid technology – without any reduction in load capacity or space.

Launched less than a year ago, the current Jogger model provides an effective replacement to the Lodgy MPV and combines the practicality of an estate, the spaciousness of an MPV and the styling of an SUV, powered by a 110hp 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.

The new hybrid version further enhances its appeal, offering an all-electric start and a reduction in fuel consumption. It features a 90hp 1.6-litre petrol engine, teamed up with twin electric motors, multi-mode transmission and a 1.2kWh battery – the latter backed by an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty.

Power stands at 140hp, enabling 0-62mph in 10.1 seconds, while official WLTP CO2 emissions come in at 112g/km, putting it in the 27% BiK bracket for 2022/23. It also returns up to 56.5mpg (WLTP combined).

The powertrain’s regenerative braking, combined with the high energy recovery of the battery, enable the hybrid to spend up to 80% of its time on urban roads in full-electric mode – which means it can save up to 40% on fuel compared to an equivalent petrol-only model, according to official figures.

Drivers can also use the ‘B’ (Brake) mode on the fully automatic, clutchless gearbox to further increase regenerative braking, optimising energy recovery.

It’s available in two of the three trims available on the standard model, covering the entry-level Expression and the top-spec Extreme SE.

Expression features include front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, blind spot warning, keyless entry, heated and electrically adjustable door mirrors, automatic wipers and automatic air conditioning. It provides an 8-inch media display for the infotainment system, featuring DAB radio, smartphone replication, Bluetooth, four speakers, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Extreme SE version adds in 16-inch black alloy wheels, sliding tray tables, heated front seats, and the 8-inch MediaNav infotainment system with integrated navigation, DAB radio, smartphone replication, Bluetooth, six speakers, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The only  option available for either model is metallic paint.

The hybrid model also comes with an exclusive 7-inch instrument cluster, which displays information such as the level of charge in the traction battery and the remaining range.

As with the petrol it comes as standard as a seven-seater with seating arranged in three rows and able to be configured into one of more than 60 options.

It launches amid growing demand for hybrids; latest SMMT new car registrations figures show hybrid demand grew 57.1% last year.

Lionel Jaillet, Dacia VP product performance, said: “The Jogger Hybrid 140 represents Dacia’s position perfectly – it is the most accessible hybrid family vehicle on the market, offering generous interior space as well as all the essential features. By incorporating this engine, Dacia has taken the leap with hybrid technology.”
