DMN Logistics expands EV transport offering

DMN Logistics is expanding its fleet of transporters to meet growing demand for the movement of electric vehicles.

EVs have specific transporting requirements and DMN’s latest fleet additions expand its work in this area

The vehicle logistic specialist has deployed two 4×4 and two Brian James trailers to add to its existing vehicle transporter.

Last year the business invested in a 7.2-tonne Iveco car transporter coupled with a 3.5-tonne Brian James trailer, and the truck and trailer combinations ensure the additional weight of EVs can be carried without compromising safety and within the legal load limits of the vehicle.

Managing director Nick Chadaway explained: “We’ve seen a huge increase in demand for our full range of logistical solutions, especially when it comes to moving EVs as they have specific transporting requirements. The 4×4 plus 3.5-tonne trailer configuration allows for a higher weight to be carried, including commercial EVs.

“We are continually developing solutions for road-driven EVs and this further addition will add value to long-range deliveries where recharging multiple times may not be an option. Increasingly our clients expect UK-wide logistical coverage, transporting a range of ICE and EV vehicles, which in the past would have proved difficult to do but now we have a viable solution.”

The investment in the transporters forms part of the company’s wider strategic growth plan to invest in digitisation, data and its infrastructure, enabling it to deliver scalable, cost-effective and leading-edge system-driven solutions that “streamline the vehicle movement process and offer peace of mind to clients”.
