DriveNow adds 30 BMW i3s to its London fleet
Launched by BMW Group and Sixt SE, DriveNow now has a fleet of 270 BMW and MINI vehicles available on a booking-free basis in London, all of which can be picked up and dropped off anywhere within the region where it operates.
Aiming to offer a cost-effective alternative to black cabs and services such as Uber, the company is aiming to expand its coverage in the capital, and a further 20 cities worldwide are planned in the near future.
Matthew Pencharz, Senior Advisor Environment & Energy to the Mayor of London said: “We’re pleased to see car club providers like DriveNow playing their part in increasing availability of electric vehicles in London. Their increased use will lower vehicle emissions and improve air quality in our city, and we welcome the launch of DriveNow’s new fleet.
“We would like to encourage Londoners to consider car club memberships like these as an option for the occasional short trip.”
