DS Automobiles to only offer plug-in models by 2025

DS Automobiles is to only offer plug-in hybrids and fully electric vehicles to customers in five years’ time – ahead of the Government’s new phase-out target dates.

The announcement was made a day after the PM confirmed that wholly petrol or diesel new cars and vans will not be allowed on sale from 2030 – with hybrids and plug-in hybrids allowed on sale until 2035.

DS also said it’s the only premium multi-energy manufacturer meeting the current 95g/km CO2 average fleet emission targets set by the European Commission, drawing on technology developed for its motorsport vehicles in the all-electric Formula E series.

Mark Blundell, UK marketing director, DS Automobiles, said: “The ambitious transition to Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicles (ULEVs) by the Government must be met with equally ambitious work from the industry. DS Automobiles has been a pioneering force for electric and plug-in vehicles since the beginning and is in a strong position to meet the new guidelines through its continued investment in and development of pioneering electrified vehicles.”
