More than a third of DS vehicles sold will be hybrid or all-electric by 2025.

The first in the series will be a petrol-electric model of the forthcoming DS 7 Crossback, which will be dubbed the E-Tense and offer 296bhp and a claimed 37-mile electric range when it arrives in spring 2019.

Eric Apode, DS product and development director, also said the company anticipates that more than a third of DS vehicles sold will be hybrid or all-electric by 2025 and added that the carmaker’s experiences of racing in Formula E is accelerating the development of DS road cars, including raising the voltage of the power controller to bring increased efficiency and potentially longer driving ranges.
