Electric Car Chargers UK wins charging deal for Pladis Global
Midlands-based EV charging specialist Electric Car Chargers UK (ECC UK) has been appointed by Pladis Global to roll out electric vehicle charging infrastructure across McVities factories.
Pladis Global, one of the world’s leading snack companies, is committed to its sustainability policy to lower carbon emission and understands the environmental benefits of expanding an EV charging infrastructure across the UK.
A successful four-point trial of EV chargers at the McVities factory in Harlesden has already prompted an upturn in staff and fleet vehicles switching to electric.
And Pladis Global has now asked ECC UK to further roll out charging infrastructure at manufacturing plants in Leicester, Halifax, Manchester, Carlisle, and Liverpool as well as its distribution centre in Ashby De La Zouch.
The expansion of the EV charging infrastructure will help Pladis Global to accelerate the transition of its company fleet to electric, enabling staff to make Benefit-in-Kind savings too.
ECC UK will install 30 fast Shell Recharge charging sockets, which are linked to a central back-office software solution, allowing Pladis Global to easily manage and monitor the use of their charging units and report carbon emission savings.
ECC UK co-founder Darren Manton commented: “Pladis Global’s social and environmental commitments are remarkable. Rolling out charging hardware across their UK sites will certainly help accelerate the uptake of EVs for their staff and fleet, and drive lower carbon emissions in the process.”
