Elektromotive Collects Green Business Award
Rewarding the UK’s most eco-conscious businesses, executives and thought leaders, the award was presented for Elektromotive’s commitment to local manufacturing, global ambitions and the use of cutting edge technology in its Elektrobay charging stations.
Presenting the award, BusinessGreen editor James Murray commented: ‘Elektromotive is a prime example of the new breed of green businesses that the UK economy urgently requires if it is to decarbonise.’
Elektromotive, recently named as the UK’s number one charging point manufacturer by market analysts Pike Research, believes infrastructure is vital for the adoption of electric vehicles. It recently studied 1,417 motorists, with 65.7% claiming they would be more likely to buy an EV if more public charging posts were available.
‘The development of electric vehicles has come on a huge amount in recent years, and the appearance of charging bays across the UK provides a positive sign that substantial reductions in vehicle emissions can soon be achieved,’ added Calvey Taylor-Haw, managing director of Elektromotive.
‘We won’t be resting on our laurels with this award, however, as it remains clear that a great deal of work still needs to be done to convince policymakers, businesses and motorists of the benefits of going electric.’
