Energy Saving Trust to reveal how to prepare for 2030 at Great British Fleet Event
As the countdown to the 2030 ICE ban continues, the Energy Saving Trust is to take part in this month’s Great British Fleet Event to advise fleets on how to prepare for going electric.
There’s less than eight years to go until the sale of new petrol and diesel cars and vans is banned under current government plans – that’s less than two replacement cycles for many fleets.
So, it’s a subject that fleets need to be embracing now – and one that will come under the microscope at the Great British Fleet Event.
Taking place on 29 March 2022 at Novotel London West in Hammersmith, the event will feature an extensive conference programme that includes a Future of Fleet Masterclass, where Ian Featherstone – account manager supply chain, transport England team at the Energy Saving Trust – will talk about ‘To 2030, and beyond’.
Drawing on his extensive knowledge of EVs and sustainability, gleaned through over 13 years at the EST, Featherstone will look at getting fleets fully up to speed and ready for the 2030 ICE vehicle deadline.
Other speakers already confirmed for the Future of Fleet Masterclass include the BVRLA’s Catherine Bowen, who will talk on ‘Charging the fleet’, while Matthew Newman of Trakm8 will speak on ‘Making telematics work: now and in the future’. Meanwhile, DriveTech’s Emma Loveday will reveal advice on getting drivers onboard for risk management.
The Great British Fleet Event will also include three other Masterclass sessions, focused on Sustainability, Mobility & Logistics and Electric Vehicles, and featuring expert speakers ranging from EV manufacturers to charge point firms, telematics specialists, risk management gurus and rental experts.
Other highlights of the Great British Fleet Event include a bustling exhibition section revealing the latest fleet services and solutions.
This will be followed in the afternoon by the glittering Great British Fleet Awards – which include a champagne reception sponsored by the AA and will reveal the fleet managers, service firms and manufacturers at the forefront of the sector.
