Entry-level Polestar 3 model gets official 438-mile range
The entry-level Polestar 3 SUV has been officially rated with a 438-mile WLTP range, giving it the longest range in its class.
Priced from £69,900, the Long Range Single Motor version is the most affordable and longest-range variant in the line-up for the luxury SUV (see test here).
Now in production at Polestar’s shared Volvo plant in Charleston, South Carolina, supplementing the brand’s China production, the Long Range Single Motor uses the same 111kWh battery pack as the dual-motor version, offering the same 250kW peak charging capability for a 30-minute 10-80% charge on DC.
The 299hp motor exclusively drives the rear axle of the Long Range Single Motor Polestar 3, and produces 490Nm of torque. The model is able to accelerate from 0-62mph in 7.8 seconds.
It’s available with a single option and pack structure. Buyers can choose from six exterior colours, five interiors and four wheel options, including a new 21-inch alloy wheel available as part of the Pro Pack.
Single options offered on the dual-motor models are also available here and include a Bowers & Wilkins 25-speaker audio system complete with Dolby Atmos, Bridge of Weir animal welfare secured Nappa leather and 1.3 megapixel LED headlights.
As with the dual-motor versions, it gets a passive damper system that uses hydraulic rebound stops (HRS) and frequency selective damping (FSD). It also uses the same Brembo braking system as the rest of the Polestar 3 range.
Matt Galvin, Polestar UK managing director said: “Range anxiety is officially a thing of the past, with all our performance EVs offering over 300 miles (WLTP). This new variant of Polestar 3 not only delivers class-leading range but offers all the luxury features and comfort our customers have come to expect from the brand, combined with the added convenience of fast charging. We look forward to commencing test drives in the new year.”
Deliveries are expected early 2025.
