Europcar UK has made the UK’s largest-ever order for the Renault ZOE electric car, with 55 joining its hire and support fleets across the country.

The 55 Renault ZOEs will be used by two parts of the Europcar UK business.

The cars are part of an ongoing commitment to have 5% of its UK fleet as electric vehicles by the end of the decade, and all are in an identical trim – Expression Nav.

Some will be used to support its Deliver and Collect service, transporting staff to locations where vehicles have been deposited after the hirer has finished the loan, to collect them and bring them back to base.

The rest will be used by E-Car Club, in which Europcar has a majority stake, and many of those will be deployed to aid growth of its fleet in Scotland. Renault electric vehicles already account for a large share of the club’s sharing fleet.
