The announcement comes as the company launches a fleet of Nissan LEAFs at its branches across London, which can also be delivered and collected from customers for added convenience.

Ken McCall, Managing Director of Europcar UK Group, said: “Europcar has risen to the challenge to improve air quality and reduce carbon emissions in London by committing to 5% electric vehicle fleet by 2020.  To meet this ambitious target we will be promoting our new fleet of electric rental vehicles to Londoners.

“Car rental is a brilliant way to try out electric vehicles and Europcar welcomes the support from the Mayor’s team for this initiative which we believe will contribute to London becoming a leader in sustainable transport.”
