Virta has joined the Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) as part of its drive to accelerate the UK’s EV transition.

Virta’s work with the AFP will help drive the fleet switch away from polluting petrol and diesel vehicles

The EV charging specialist, which operates in the UK and across 35 countries with more than 500,000 charging points, said fleet vehicles hold the key to driving faster adoption of electric vehicles which, in turn, will lead to improvements in charging infrastructure.

Its work with the AFP will help drive the fleet switch away from polluting petrol and diesel vehicles. The fleet industry body connects, supports and educates the sector, giving fleet decision-makers access to training, advice and guidance on key issues impacting the running of sector.

Ross Basnett from Virta said: “The AFP is an incredibly powerful voice in the fleet world and we are delighted to become a member.

“AFP is committed to elevating standards in the industry and is a force for good in the move away from petrol and diesel. As part of our membership, we will sit on the decarbonisation committee to help drive those conversations.

“There are over 1,500 members of the AFP, so we will be able to speak to people across the spectrum of fleet management.

Paul Hollick, chair at the AFP, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Virta to the AFP community and are looking forward to benefiting from their contributions to the decarbonisation committee.”
