Exeter City Football Club (ECFC) has partnered with Switch Car Rental to reduce its carbon emissions and support the transition to greener practices.

Many of the vehicles in the fleet will be electric

As part of the alliance, Switch will provide a fleet of vehicles to support the men’s and women’s teams, as well as ECFC Academy and Community Trust. The vehicles will play a vital role in enabling seamless transportation for matches, events and community projects.

Many of the vehicles in the fleet will be electric, highlighting the commitment of both Exeter City and Switch to utilise eco-friendly solutions.

Switch Car Rental launched earlier this year under the Scot Group umbrella, which also operates Thrifty Car and Van Rental in the UK. The new business spans car and van mobility solutions across a range of different offerings that include short- and long-term solutions and its newly launched flexible rental offering.

Joe Gorman, Exeter City’s CEO, said: “We are delighted to welcome Switch as part of the Exeter City family.

“They are a company that shares our values of community and sustainability. The provision of electric vehicles supports the club’s day-to-day operations and aligns with our long-term vision. We look forward to working together to make a positive impact both locally and beyond.”

Martin Wilson, managing director at Switch, added: “This partnership builds on our long-standing relationship with ECFC and with more than 50% of the vehicles we are supplying being fully electric, represents a shared commitment to sustainability and innovation.

“We look forward to working closely with the club and embracing this partnership as we drive forward together, both on and off the pitch.”
