Farizon SV electric van opens for orders from £45,000
The all-new ‘born electric’ Farizon SV large van from Chinese brand Geely has opened for orders in the UK, priced from £45,000 OTR (+ VAT).
Imported by automotive distributor Jameel Motors, the electric panel van is due to start first deliveries in Q2 and is expected to conquest sales based on its “ultra-competitive” price and high specification.
Its plans to disrupt the UK van sector are also based on a “compelling” blend of cargo carrying practicality, real-world efficiency and performance, and driver comfort and convenience.
Developed from the ground up, it’s built on a drive-by-wire platform said to deliver significant packaging advantages, with five different size combinations providing UK buyers with “generous” levels of cabin and cargo space. Available in L1 H1, L1 H2, L2 H2, L2 H3 and L3 H3 configurations, every model comes with an extra-low loading height of 550mm.
The powertrain features a single electric motor with 231hp of power and 336Nm of torque and either a 67kWh or an 83kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, with a 106kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery available for the L3 H3 model.
All battery options feature cell-to-pack technology, reducing weight while increasing battery capacity and body rigidity.
Combined WLTP range is between 177 and 247 miles and Jameel Motors cites an urban WLTP range of up to 342 miles.
All variants come with a standard four-year/120,000-mile warranty plus an eight-year/120,000-mile for the battery.
Standard equipment includes features such as automatic headlights with intelligent high beam control, automatic wipers, a 360-degree surround view camera, heated and ventilated seats for driver and passenger, and a heated windscreen.
Also fitted as standard is a payload monitoring system, which uses ride-height sensors used to calibrate the vehicle’s weight. A payload readout on the LCD driver’s display helps drivers and fleet operators ensure that they are meeting gross vehicle weight regulations. Overweight loads are alerted to the driver.
Comfort and convenience features as standard include heated multi-function steering wheel, high-power USB charging, automatic air conditioning, physical buttons alongside touchscreen control, three-seat layout, a full-size spare wheel, and a full suite of advanced safety and assistance systems.
Standard paint finish is white but cyan, black, blue, gold and grey are available as options, priced at £550 + VAT. Other cost options include vehicle-to-load (V2L) system for £500 + VAT, a towing package, fitted (crossbar, towball, towing electrics module) for £400 + VAT and 270-degree rear doors for £300 + VAT.
Tom Carney, managing director, Jameel Motors UK, said: “We already knew that the Farizon SV would be a unique product in this competitive segment, and now we know it will be ultra-competitive on price and significantly exceed expectations for standard specification, too.
“Not only is the list of standard features impressive, the SV also includes features that aren’t available at all on competitor models, like the weight monitoring system. That explains why we are seeing such excitement and interest in the SV from fleets large and small.”
