FASTER project to host free webinar on picking the right EV
A webinar on finding the best electric vehicle to best suit your needs is running this week from the FASTER project.
Part of a series of webinars on the benefits of EVs, the event (see teaser video here) will include reviews of 10 different styles and sizes of electric vehicles, providing details of what’s on offer in the EV marketplace today. This will support work by the FASTER Project – a joint initiative by partners in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Eire – to help enable a mass transition to low carbon transport systems.
Webinars will be chaired by Euan McTurk of PlugLife Consulting, who’s an electro chemist and member of the Electric Vehicle Association Scotland – and start from this Wednesday 25 May 2022 at 8pm. Other salient topics will also be covered.
Ewan Turk explained: “In a two-part special, we shall welcome EV experts from the Arnold Clark Innovation Centre in Glasgow, Eco Cars and Next Eco Car to discuss the breadth of electric vehicle options on the market today and what to look for when choosing an EV that suits your needs. This will be followed by a discussion on how to plan an EV summer road trip with the help of experts from Zap-Map, WattsUp and EV owner associations from Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
“We want to hear questions from the public on these topics, which we shall put to our panelists in the Q&A sessions.”
The FASTER project will see the physical roll-out and installation of 73 rapid (50kW capacity) electric vehicle charging stations in the programme areas before May 2023. It aims to ensure that the availability of public charging stations is not a major obstacle to people looking to switch to an electric vehicle.
