The trio of charging hubs from the UK’s best-rated EV charging station operator are located in Birmingham, Bradford and Dover, featuring a total of 26 400kW charging bays, of which 18 are already live.

These hubs are strategically located to serve both local and long-distance EV drivers, providing a quick and reliable charging boost.

The sites include Bordesley hub in Birmingham city centre, off the A45 at Bordesley Circus roundabout and featuring 12 400kW charging bays, with room for future growth.

The Bradford hub is located at Cutler Heights in the south-east of the city, off the A6177 Bradford ring road and with eight 400kW charging bays, again with potential for future expansion.

And the Dover site is right near the port, on the A20 across from the Dover Marina. It’s kitted out with six 400kW charging bays, with the ability to add more in the future.

These new hubs not only enhance Fastned’s network but also have the capacity to grow in the future.

All of Fastned’s charging bays are powered by 100% renewable energy, potentially offering drivers up to 300 miles of range in just 20 minutes. The chargers have been designed to be reliable and easy to use, combined with a range of payment methods.

The new charging hubs feature Fastned’s yellow ‘wings’, which help EV drivers locate the site easily and show drivers who have not yet switched to electric that fast charging is available to them. This helps to accelerate the EV transition in the UK as a whole.

Tom Hurst, UK country director at Fastned, said that the new hubs are an important piece of the charging puzzle, “bringing more charging options to EV drivers, which will inevitably support the EV transition in the area and across the UK”.

Fastned, along with Tesla, come out top in Zapmap’s 2025 driver satisfaction rankings for rapid and ultra-rapid public charging networks in the UK.

The seventh edition of Zapmap’s annual league table saw Fastned ranked top in the ‘Medium’ sized network category, following its win last year. The established European player continues to grow its UK footprint and scored very highly for reliability, ease of use and the payment options offered.
